If you have tried to get permission before but failed, or are considering buying some land that needs on-site accommodation, or simply wish to establish what your chances of success would be before incurring substantial fees, we can undertake a "desktop appraisal". This allows us to look at your own case in detail and will result in a report to you setting out what you need to do in order to stand the best chance of getting the permission you want. We can do this from the information you give us on this form, and it will cost a fraction of the cost of consultants fees for an unsuccessful application.

If the desktop appraisal is positive, or you have already decided to make a planning application for an equine dwelling, (or other contentious applications) you must submit a report (referred to by the planners as a "technical appraisal") to justify why the planning authority should give you permission. The quality of the report you submit, and the equine and planning knowledge of the consultant who prepares it for you, will have a major influence on whether or not you get the permission you want.
